Density Formula

What is Density?

Calculating Density

The formula for calculating density is p = mV, where p is the density, m is the mass, and V is the volume. Density is equal to mass per unit volume. Density is a basic and fundamental concept in physics and engineering. Furthermore, it has a strong relationship with the mass of an object.

Volume VS. Density

Density is not the same as volume. Volume is the amount of space an object takes up. Density is the amount of mass an object has per unit of volume. For example, a lead ball has a higher density than a plastic ball of the same size because lead has more mass than plastic.
